About

I love music. It’s my life and something that I will never stop progressing in.  I’m a student and teacher of music, mainly with voice, piano and clarinet (and other instruments that I am not, yet, professional in).  I have trained in juvenile halls, inner city schools, academies, private studios and peoples’ homes with the purpose of spreading the joy and majesty of music to every one of all ages in all circumstances—everyone deserves to learn music.  It has been my goal for years to share what I've learned with anyone who is willing to grow.  When the student leaves the lesson with better technique or a new skill, this is wonderful for both of us.  When the student feels better about themselves with confidence, knowledge and anticipation, excited for discovering more of what they can accomplish, that is my joy and why I teach.  I believe music is a powerful tool that can help a person become better like nothing else can.  I am blessed to have the teachers who believed in me when it seemed that no one else did.  From elementary school through college, my teachers have made life better.  I love that I can pass that forward in my own studio with everything that I have learned and I hope you pass it forward, too.

For myself, teaching music is helping someone—not only to sing or perform well but also—have a glimpse of how strong, powerful, smart, skilled and wonderful they truly are.  We each have so much to offer and music helps us find that—to study it, perform it, practice it and be taught in it.  And each person has something unique that no one else has.  It is exciting to hear the true voice ring out that no one else has and how lucky I am to be the one to hear it!  Once again, this is my joy.

I love to read the testimonials because it shows what the students and their parents have learned—that it’s not just learning to perform music well but that it’s made them happier and better.  It has done this for me, as well and I thank them all for it. And thank you for reading.  I hope you have enjoyed Miss Kris Music.  I hope to see you soon.
